1 Note Guitar Practice Routine - Part 3
Great video full of honesty and good vibes
Thanks Joanna
Learning the hard way is more beneficial in the long run, but mind you that the "long-run" isn't possible for most people if they're not having fun doing it. It's more fun when it's easier. Either way, if you keep at it, with or without the stickers, you'll arrive at the same destination.
Just found your channel. I'm just about to get my PA system. I've discovered the looper function on my HX Stomp (and that you can separate the play/rec, stop and undo functions onto different buttons. Great!). Anyway, I started looping a couple of songs and I'm having a fine old time of it. My question is this: Do you loop on every song, or do you mix it up. I have a massive repertoire. Way more than I need to start playing - which is great. However, I'd mainly like to loop on songs with a solo part, but some songs I'd actually not like to loop at all. Would you recommend against that or..?
I think it's better to mix it up. It gets boring if every song starts the same way
Midnight express?
Name?
its that destiny's child survivor?
I desperately deseperately tried to care about what this. I just couldn't. Sorry. It was mindlessly boring.
What was the point of you writing this comment? Other than showing that your attention span sucks.
Final fantasy intro music
Fall out?
Big trouble in little china
I suppose these are Welsh rates? Do you think it goes up much near London? (Btw you make a nice change from an American accent)

Crap video,you only talk
Great job my friend!!🎸
Thank you!
Awesome presentation. I think often picking is taken for granted, so it's not learned well. But it's an important fundamental guitar skill. 5 stars for presenting this in detail.
Top lessons!
Act Like You Know
Street fighter🙌
Zelda! Main theme ofc
very cool version of QOSTA song
This seems like a add
The quality isn't the best with some of these but it's just an honest clip taken from a live guitar lesson. Hopefully it'll help people change between open chords more efficiently
The reason it I said it seems like it a add was adds do that angle a lot and I’m just scrolling past shorts for a second I thought it was a add
Ah I see 😆
Here in the US the standard 3 hour gig pays between $200-$300 for a solo acoustic. If you’re playing a private gig it’s $1000. I will never play for less than $200 regardless of it’s a 2 hour or a 3 hour gig.
Thanks for the info!
Amazing cover WOW! 🔥
I'm opening for a bigger artist as an unknown one for the first time in a few weeks and I'm pretty terrified. Thank you so much for the advice!
Where is it? I'd love to know how it goes
@@ScottGuitarist los angeles hotel cafe haha
If I could be there, I would lol good luck 👍
@@ScottGuitarist thankssss
Hi sir can you please make a video about the george benson style of picking? He pick differently..is it nice to learn it? He seems good at it ...❤ i just subscribed
Thank you! I will definitely look into it. I often explore singing the notes while I play, it's really good to develop aural awareness. Thanks again for the sub :)
I’ve been given an RC 30 and I’ve looked at it with terror ever since . This video has been really helpful and I’m ready to up to the shelf to give it a try
It’s really a matter of memory, not age.
I concur with so many of the positive comments here, so let me just go "sound on sound" so to speak, and add my compliments and appreciation for the job you've done here☺ I just happened to buy one of these pedals used, and this was the first demo or tutorial I've ever watched. Chose well, right out of the gate😁..... Thanks again
Thank you, hope you enjoy looping!
Okay but what if I put them on for only limited time until i have an idea of the patterns. And take them off. then learn to play without any stickers.
Was Bang A Gong the T Rex song?
Yes! I think it was 😄
Thanks man 🙏🏼👍🏼🎸
Great video. If you added the c note to the b note. It is what AC/DC use in the Rock N Roll Damnation.....
You are good vibes amigo. Veteran of around 1,000 solo gigs here and this is good stuff. The little things are big things when you go live. Thanks for helping the newbs!. Also your voice is awesome… but why do all Europeans sing with an American accent? 😅… the mystery remains!.
Thank you! That is a mystery to me too lol
Good instruction although I found it annoying that he wouldnt call the "plectrom"(sp?) a pick.
Just talk, no need to add stupid jokes, too annoying
Thank you so much+
Hey Scott... Wondering where this went. Had to dig deep to find you again :((
❤❤
best one I've seen so far - Many thanks!!
No worries, thanks for watching
This was really great. You have a knack for teaching because you link theory to practical learning in bite-sized “a-ha” chunks. I never thought I would need a creative songwriting class, because I’m an amateurish guitarist, but I now completely see the value to understand how these concepts are linked. I’m very interested now.
Watching you do this was… amazing. I’ve never seen this done, and I thought it would be so complicated but you had it nailed within 20 seconds. May I recommend something? A series of videos, perhaps in their own section on your page, illustrating how you do this with a variety of songs. I feel like I could learn more about music theory in a half-dozen of these videos than dozens and dozens of videos about theoretical music theory. Thank you!
That's a great idea, thank you for the suggestion and comments. Knowing that people find my videos useful is the biggest incentive to make more. I appreciate it.
This totally makes sense. But how do you learn the “musicianship” if all we’ve ever used is tablature? I know my basic chords a few of the major scales, and I can even tell you how many sharps a few keys have. So it’s not a lot of theory. But I can read tabs with the best of them. So how do I go from a low level of musicianship to understanding it well enough to work out my own songs? What I need to learn specifically is a mystery to me.
It's a connection to the guitar which we need to develop. The first step is generally being able to find the tonal centre - the note which feels like its the root of the key and resolves tension. You can do it by closing your eyes, play along to any song and play any note on the low E string and make a concious decision to take it higher or lower until you find the right one. After trying them all, you may find 3 which all 'kind of' sound right to you. Shoot an email to scott@scottguitarteacher.com and I can give you more details.
great video, little question, are the lenghts of the loops always the same? or I can do the first loop of 5 sec and second of 20 sec, for example? Thanks
With this looper, it's all tied in to the same loop length. I believe the RC 500 can record different length tracks in the same loop but I'm not 100% sure how it works exactly.
I can’t wait
We are signing a petition in school for you and the drum teacher to comeback
That's amazing haha
You taught me in school yesterday I’m Zack thanks
Hiya Zack. You did really well during the lesson mate. Unfortunately I won't be back teaching due to budget cuts at the school but if you need help learning anything, just get in touch and I'll point you in the right direction. You can look me up on Instagram at Scott.guitar.teacher
Thanks I really enjoyed I was gutted when I got told by my music teacher

Yeah this was meant to be a parody but looks like people are taking it seriously lol
